This is a new era for the Indian Association of Preventive and Social Medicine, West Bengal Chapter, as we have decided to bring in Scientific Scholar, a well-established and trusted brand, as the publisher for our esteemed “Journal of Comprehensive Health,” starting from this January–June 2024 issue onward. The next few years will bring us an opportunity to work together with the aim of taking the journal to new standards of national and global recognition. As we advance, with assured dissemination of our publishing content globally, the Editorial board of the journal will focus on publishing high-quality original investigations, narrative reviews, and unique case reports/series, which will help students, faculty, as well as practicing clinicians to improve and improvise their day-to-day teaching/training, research activities, and health-care services.

As we look forward to progress in this new journey, we are proud of our legacy and feel excited that over the past years, we have published some engaging medical research and clinical content, which have been educative to our reader base and have played a pivotal role in shaping healthcare policies in the region. Several of our published papers are highly sought after in the research community, and our authors have received several accolades and academic progress in the past. As the journal now comes with a new face and appeal, we wish to take this opportunity to convey our heartfelt thanks to our editorial board members, our reviewers who have been doing such wonderful voluntary work for the journal, and above all to all our authors who have kept their faith in the journal so far and have enriched our content database with their engaging articles.

In the past years, the journal has published some diverse content in the form of originals, reviews, and cases. The journal published cross-sectional studies on sleep hygiene from West Bengal,1 and awareness about dengue fever among children in eastern India2 and on reproductive tract infections from North India.3 The journal, as usual, addressed key areas of immunology, vaccination, and infections. In doing so, we published a unique concept on the relationship between aging and neuroimmunology,4 whereas an editorial underscored the significance of vaccination and immunization with future perspectives till 2030.5 We also brought to the attention of our readers the threats and concerns associated with air pollution and on-going climatic changes.6 The journal also addressed global perspectives on neglected tropical diseases7 with the approach to bring attention to this set of diseases that affect billions of people worldwide.

In totality, the journal has published diversified content addressing various key concepts of preventive and community medicine with the aim of disseminating crucial information for students, faculty, researchers, and practicing clinicians. As we set out on a new journey, we are confident that our published content will reach a much wider readership; besides, we will be able to publish even more diversified clinical content in our field. The Indian Association of Preventive and Social Medicine, West Bengal Chapter, would like to take this opportunity, on behalf of the Journal of Comprehensive Health, to encourage our readers, students, faculty, and researchers in the field of Community Medicine to submit their engaging content with us.

Dr. Dibakar Haldar,

Secretary,

IAPSM-WB Chapter.
